Shannon & Devin - Wedding Day Recap

November 9th, 2008

Shannon & Devin invited us to capture their wedding on August 9, 2008.  Their ceremony was at 3:00 pm at the beautiful Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury, MD and the reception was held at one of the most scenic locations in Ocean City, Maryland: Lighthouse Sound.  Photography was done by Andrew Nock Photography, Salisbury, Wicomoco, Maryland.

This is why we do this job!

October 25th, 2008

It’s often been said that a wedding videographer has the best job in the world.  We get invited to participate in one of the happiest days in a person’s life.  Yesterday we got an email from Sarah’s mom, Kay, thanking us.  I don’t think anyone here could say it any better.  If you’re on the fence about a video, read this:

Hi Steve!  Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.  I don’t even know what to say.  Sarah and Mike’s wedding was just the most fun, special, magical, awesome, best wedding ever!  It was everything we had wished for and MORE!  And I owe you a big THANK YOU for helping to make it everything it was.  You guys were just THE BEST!!!!!!.  Anyone who doesn’t use you for their wedding is just plain crazy, and definitely unlucky!  The little video preview you sent was so awesome, all our relatives in the room watching it cried, and of course, I cried the most!  And still cry every time I watch it.   We have sent it to countless people, and everyone is just amazed by it.  CAN”T WAIT to see the whole video.  The evening went by in a flash, and there is so much I can’t remember (and I wasn’t even drinking!), so I am so glad I will have the video to refresh my memory. I am feeling kind of sad and let down now that it is o ver. I hear that is common for the mother of the bride to feel afterwards. You and your assistant were so easy to work with, and you are SO professional and SO nice!  We will certainly be recommending you to all the prospective brides and bridegrooms we know.  One thing I goofed on is that I never got a picture of my mother and me together that whole day.    Maybe somewhere in the video I will see us together.   Thanks again, from the bottom of my heart.   KAY FLEM

It doesn’t get any better than that.

Sarah And Mike

October 12th, 2008

It’s nights like these that I realize we have the best job in the world.  What do you get when you mix the best videographers, the best photographers, the best DJ and the best venue with two of the coolest people we’ve met in a long time?  You get pure magic.  Arguably, Sarah and Mike combined the absolute best talent on the Eastern Shore of Delmarva and got a wedding day that is, hands down, one of the best events we’ve attended in a long time.

Using sparklers to end your wedding night

August 13th, 2008

We just finished shooting Shannon & Devin’s wedding and they decided they wanted to use sparklers to end the evening as they walked out of the beautiful Lighthouse Sound and into their car. Although it wound up looking beautiful, we did pick up some tips that would make the ending to your wedding night much more sparkly! :)

Are we already booked???

January 26th, 2008

You know, I got to thinking while we were at Video’08 this year that we turn away a lot of brides. In fact, this year, we’ve turned away as many brides as we’ve booked and every single time, it breaks my heart that we’re not able to help them. So that got me thinking…

Just because we’re not available to videotape the wedding day doesn’t mean we can’t help you with some kind of add-on product. We do a lot more than just wedding day videos. Naturally, you’d want to make sure the videographer you hire to do your wedding day video doesn’t have a problem with it (assuming you get one — which I pray that every bride I have to turn away finds someone).

We can do a bridal elegance session, an engagement shoot, a photo montage, or a trash the dress shoot. (NOTE: The Trash the Dress shoot is something we’re dying to do but haven’t actually done yet. The link above takes you to my good friend, Darrel Aubert out of Philadelphia and shows you a sample he did.)

So try to think beyond the wedding day video. A bride in her wedding dress is an absolutely beautiful sight to behold. You should strongly consider preserving those memories forever in as many ways as possible.

Our batteries are charged!

January 25th, 2008

Rob and I are getting ready to leave the annual 4EverGroup Video’08 conference. Every year a huge number of wedding videographers from around the country get together to swap videos and ideas. The main purpose is to give everyone new ideas and new energy for the coming year and WHEW did they ever…

We got some great ideas for this coming year and those of you who were smart enough to book us early are really going to get some spectacular videos. If you haven’t already booked us for 2008, you may be too late. We’ve almost completely booked our spring/summer season (but there are still a couple of dates left) and are starting to fill up our summer/fall season. Please don’t wait until the last minute to call us. We would love to be able to fill up every single weekend in the fall so we can give as many brides and grooms as possible what we humbly feel is the absolute best wedding video they will be able to get.

Seaside Dance Academy Holiday Special - A BIG Hit!

December 15th, 2007

Well, we’re sitting here at the 5th annual Seaside Dance Academy holiday special getting ready for the evening show and I have to tell you, if you haven’t seen these guys and gals put on their holiday show, you have no idea what you’re missing. Every one of these kids put their heart and soul into a great show to kick off what I consider to be the closing of the holiday season. Let’s face it, Santa arriving at the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade starts the Christmas season but this show, to us, really brings it all home.

We still have DVD’s available for sale from past years and this years will be available around mid January. Drop us a line if you’re interested in buying one of these. They’re a lot of fun to watch to get in the holiday mood.

Trash The Dress

October 8th, 2007

There’s a new trend in weddings today. If you haven’t heard about it yet, you will soon. It’s called “Trash The Dress.” This article is a good read on what exactly that means.

My personal favorite line from that article sums up exactly what “Trash The Dress” means and why it should be important to you:

“I am just as excited about these pictures as I am about the ones that were taken on my actual wedding day! To me the pictures crystallize my own feelings after all the planning, worrying, and stressing about the wedding was over.”

Outdoor wedding tip

July 29th, 2007

Yesterday we shot a wedding that was outdoors at the beautiful Rehoboth Beach Country Club. If you are considering a destination wedding, I would highly recommend you contact Cheryl at the country club and schedule a visit. We’re planning on doing a sit down interview with her about this location because it is truly becoming our favorite place to shoot.

Style is everything!!!

July 4th, 2007

We’ve been in the wedding business for a little over 6 years and it’s pretty interesting for us to go back and look at our style 6 years ago and compare it with today. It reminded me just how important it is for brides to find a videographer who’s style suits them.
