Outdoor wedding tip
Yesterday we shot a wedding that was outdoors at the beautiful Rehoboth Beach Country Club. If you are considering a destination wedding, I would highly recommend you contact Cheryl at the country club and schedule a visit. We’re planning on doing a sit down interview with her about this location because it is truly becoming our favorite place to shoot.
Having said that, yesterday’s wedding really put something into perspective for us and we really would encourage all brides considering outdoor weddings to take this advice to heart. Although an outdoor wedding can truly be a beautiful thing, you really need to be prepared for the fact it might wind up not being what you wanted. See, yesterday’s wedding was at 6pm and it started to rain heavily around 3:30pm. When the call was made to bring the wedding indoors, no one was happy. Our bride had always pictured an outdoor wedding and was disappointed when it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Fortunately, God smiled on everyone and brought the sun out around 5pm. Cheryl and her crack staff were outside drying off chairs with hand towels to try and give the guests a place to sit. Luckily, we were able to have the wedding outside and give our bride her dream wedding.
I guess the point of this entry is to just remind people that on the Delmarva peninsula, an outdoor wedding is not a guaranteed thing. If you absolutely have your heart set on an outdoor wedding then you absolutely need to realize that it could come indoors if the weather is not favorable. If the idea just isn’t palletable to you, we would strongly urge you to consider an indoor venue for your ceremony.
Anyway, we’ll be posting some clips from this event over the next few days to show that, despite the rain, we were able to capture the beauty of the day.
