Style is everything!!!

We’ve been in the wedding business for a little over 6 years and it’s pretty interesting for us to go back and look at our style 6 years ago and compare it with today. It reminded me just how important it is for brides to find a videographer who’s style suits them.

Not all videographers are created equal. In addition to the quality of the work, there’s also many different styles of weddings. Some videographers will shoot the entire wedding and entire ceremony, clean it up by removing shots of the floor and the ceiling and hand it to you and call it done. These videos wind up being a couple hours long and, although they definitely tell the story of the day, most couples don’t watch those types of videos more than once or twice.

At Memories Forever, we’ve always had the philosophy that if you hit the fast forward button on your remote, we’ve done something wrong. As such, our style is to create what we call a “short form” video. This style of video cuts out a lot of the “filler” from the day and presents to you only the most significant events of the day in a way that’s entertaining and emotional. For example, do you really need to see every bridesmaid walk all the way down the aisle from beginning to end? Or, would you prefer to see a 6-10 second clip of each bride walking down the aisle so you “get the picture?” If you prefer option A, then we’re probably not the company for you. Our complete short form videos range from 30-45 minutes long and we’ve never had a bride complain that we cut out something valuable.

So, our recommendation to all you brides is to meet with several videographers and decide not only which one has the most technical ability or makes you cry the most but look for the style that interests you. Look at some long form videos and look at some short form videos — which one do you prefer? Hopefully you’ll agree with us that the short form video is the best way to showcase your wedding day.
